Denver’s largest airport is famous for having a 32-foot-tall sculpture of what?
The Denver airport is guarded by a 32-foot-tall sculpture of a demonic horse. Weighing in at 9,000 pounds, the sculpture was initially designed to capture the spirit of the old American Wild West. Molded from polychromed fiberglass, the mustang is painted a vibrant blue with red, glowing neon eyes. It is notable both for its striking appearance and for having killed its creator Luis Jiménez when a section of the sculpture fell on him and severed an artery in his leg. The “Blue Mustang” sculpture was installed at the Denver airport in 2008
