Rod Blagojevich served as the governor of Illinois from 2002 until his impeachment, conviction, and removal from office in 2009. He was convicted of numerous corruption charges in 2011, including allegations he tried to sell or trade President Barack Obama's vacant U.S. Senate seat after Obama was elected president in 2008. Blagojevich served nearly eight of a 14-year sentence at a federal prison in Colorado, before being commuted last month by President Donald Trump. He remains on two years of supervised release.
