The centennial of the French Revolution
The Eiffel Tower, named after its designer, French engineer Gustave Eiffel, was build for the Universal Exhibition of 1889, a World's fair that celebrated 100 years since the French Revolution took place. The Eiffel Tower was inaugurated on March 31, 1889 and has become the universally known symbol of France. Many reproductions (in various scales) of the Eiffel Tower can be found all over the world - in USA, Russia, Australia, Germany, United Arab Emirates, China, Malaysia, Greece, Romania, Belgium, Denmark.
