The founder of which hotel died in the sinking of the Titanic?

Answer:

WALDORF ASTORIA

John Jacob Astor IV – the co-founder of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel – died in the sinking of the RMS Titanic on this day in 1912. Astor made his fortune in real estate, building the Astoria hotel in 1897 – which was regarded at the time as the world’s most luxurious hotel. The hotel was adjoined to the Waldorf Hotel, which was owned by his cousin. The building complex eventually became known as the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. He also also built other luxurious hotels, including the St. Regis. Astor was one of the richest people in the world at that time with a net worth of roughly $87 million when he died.
