What country has a state called Tabasco?
It's located in southeastern Mexico and it became a state in 1824. The area is known for producing lots of cacao, coconuts, corn, sugarcane, and tropical fruits, although confusingly, not many Tabasco peppers. The peppers used in Tabasco sauce are now grown on farms throughout Latin America, as well as on Avery Island in Louisiana, where Tabasco sauce is made.
