What country's name comes from the Portuguese word for shrimp?
Camarões (shrimps) also happens to be where the African country of Cameroon got its name. Though the country was later colonized by the Germans, British, and French, it was 15th-century Portuguese explorer Fernão do Pó who first noticed the abundance of shrimp in the Wouri river, one of the country’s largest rivers.
