What is the most frequently broken bone in the human body?
The collarbone, otherwise known as the clavicle, is the most commonly broken bone, thanks in large part to where it's positioned. The clavicle is the bone that runs across the front of the body from shoulder to shoulder. Due to its length and slenderness, as well as its prominent position, it breaks quite easily. Seniors usually break their collarbones from a hard fall. Younger adults, teens, and children are more likely to break their collarbone in a car accident or from playing sports. A broken collarbone takes about 6-8 weeks to heal in most adults, and 3 to 6 weeks in children.
