What was Kramer's name in the pilot episode of Seinfeld?
Cosmo Kramer, usually referred to as simply "Kramer", is a fictional character on the television sitcom Seinfeld, played by actor Michael Richards. In "The Seinfeld Chronicles", the pilot episode of Seinfeld, Kramer was called "Kessler" as the real Kramer—Larry David’s former neighbor, Kenny Kramer was hesitant to let his name be used for the show. The "real" Kramer eventually relented, and was paid $1,000 for the use of his name on the show. Beginning with the second episode of season one, the character's name was changed to "Kramer".
