CupCakes

Hostess CupCakes claims to be the first commercially produced cupcake and has become an iconic American brand. Hostess CupCakes used to be marketed by its mascot Captain Cupcake, who was a companion in commercials to Twinkie the Kid and Fruit Pie the Magician. Captain Cupcake was portrayed as an anthropomorphic cupcake which wore a navy blue hat and gave the appearance of being the captain of a ship. At the character's introduction, he was included on boxes and packages of Hostess Cupcakes but is very rarely seen on the cupcake containers anymore.
