Which team was said to suffer the "Curse of the Bambino" for trading Babe Ruth?
Boston Red Sox
The Curse of the Bambino was supposedly a bad omen placed upon the Boston Red Sox after the team sold Babe Ruth (sometimes nicknamed "The Bambino") to the New York Yankees after the 1919 season. The "Curse" was used to explain the lack of a World Series win by the Red Sox, for an 86-year period from 1918 until 2004. After the sale, they went without a title for nearly a century, as the previously lackluster Yankees became one of the most successful professional sports franchises in North America. The "Curse" is said to have ended in 2004, when the Red Sox finally won the World Series.
