Who co-founded Microsoft with Bill Gates?
Paul Allen met fellow student and computer enthusiast Bill Gates when Allen was 14 and Gates was 12. The childhood friends and college drop-outs founded Microsoft on this day in 1975 with the intention of designing software for the new wave of personal computers. As Microsoft grew and its stock rose, Allen's share in the company he co-founded made him a billionaire at just over 30 years of age. Allen was ranked as the 44th-wealthiest person in the world by Forbes in 2018, with an estimated net worth of $20.3 billion at the time of his death.
